What I’m Reading

Instagram Photos

Still working on moving all of my novel notes to Notion. Finishing the last character notes, then starting on my scene list. Getting the data table put together now.
I can't wait!!! Really looking forward to my second @realmmakers conference!
I don’t do resolutions. They have a tendency to be vague and not stick for more than a month, if they get that far. I do goals instead, and there are several things I’m excited for in 2023!
I finished my 2022 reading goal with just two hours to go! Woohoo! Here are my @goodreads stats.
Have you read “Amusing Ourselves to Death” by Neil Postman? Published in 1985, this book is basically prophecy of our current state of media and knowledge. While I disagree with him on a few points of religion, specifically Christianity, he makes valid points about the roles that televised preachers and news programs have played in the diminishing of the seriousness of their content, and the destruction of knowledge and discourse through everything being treated as entertainment.
I am super happy to share that I am picking up the violin again after about 15 years. I played from third grade through my senior year with my school orchestras, then a bit on my own through college. My violin got some damage from extreme weather conditions, and I hadn’t played since. Now I have a brand new violin, and the Essential Elements workbook to help me refresh on the simple things I probably forgot. That book gives me access to the online interactive learning site, and WOW! The helpful features! It listens to me play and scores me in different areas! I have a lot of work to do, but I love that I’m playing again.
