Book Grading System

I decided in addition to writing a review of the books I read, to come up with a system to grade them as well. I will rate a book on different things, on a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being the best) then do an average. That number will correspond with the grade, 1=F, 2=D, 3=C, 4=B, 5=A. Here’s what I’ll be rating:

Fiction
1) Overall Plot
2) Characters
3) Flow/Pace of the story
4) Is the story easy to follow?
5) Overall Enjoyability

Non-Fiction
1) Is it understandable?
2) Presentation of Information
3) Quality of Writing
4) Overall Enjoyability

I’ll be starting this system with my next review. This page was written on 4/9/11.

As of my next review, I will no longer be doing a letter grade. I think the number system is sufficient. – 12/19/14
