I may not have met my goal to read 52 books this year, but I only fell short by 9. I read twice as many books this year than I did the last two years combined, so I consider that a success.
With that in mind, here are the books that I absolutely loved reading for the first time in 2016.
Fiction (Christian)
The Butterfly and the Violin by Kristy Cambron
Mist of Midnight by Sandra Byrd
Light of the Last by Chuck Black
Bride of a Distant Isle by Sandra Byrd
Newton and Polly by Jody Hedlund
The Goodbye Bride by Denise Hunter
The Beautiful Pretender by Melanie Dickerson
Fiction (Secular)
The Violinist of Venice by Alyssa Palombo
The Red Necklace by Sally Gardner
A Fine Imitation by Amber Brock
Non-Fiction (Christian)
Parables by John MacArthur
When I Don’t Desire God by John Piper
The Pursuit of God by A. W. Tozer
Star Struck by Dr. David Bradstreet & Steve Rabey
The Dawning of Indestructible Joy by John Piper
Out of the Depths by John Newton (review to be posted)
