Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010

So another year is over and I’m hoping that the new year brings a better life, better health, and a better country. 2009 ended on a high note for me… good stuff going on at work and some other personal things that turned out well. I ordered 4 new books on Christmas Eve, then bought 3 more on New Year’s Eve. There were 4 Ted Dekker books (Showdown, Saint, Sinner, Green), then a collection of works by C.S. Lewis, 1984 by George Orwell, and Common Sense (and other writings) by Thomas Paine. Looking forward to reading them all, but right now I am re-reading the Left Behind series. I’m half-way through book 3. Ten more to go!

The thing that has me worried for 2010 is the direction American government is heading. I could discuss in length what scares me, but I won’t do that now. Maybe another post. Let’s just say for now that the government is trying very hard, and seemingly succeeding, to gain control over every aspect of our lives… the very thing this country was founded to get away from.

I pray that all my friends have a wonderful year and that God blesses them greatly in every area of life.
